American Psychiatric Association said to’ve lost their Marbles – Part 2

DSM 5 to turn World insane

It’s not unusual to measure or compare oneself to the Models on magazine covers, all of whom are stunningly gorgeous with spectacular bodies and taller, much taller than the average woman.

Specifically fashion models on the covers of Vogue, etc. are for the most part between 5’10 and 6’1 and VERY thin.

But not only women compare themselves to Models, men do, too – the male models in posters of underwear, fashion or sportswear ads seem also to be cast from a different world where only humans lacking any flaws exist.

But fact is we WANT to look at attractive skinny people and buy magazines in which only top models, attractive actresses and actors etc. Glamorize the pages, with high “ambitions” to look like them. Isn’t that what the headlines read luring folks to buy these popular magazines ?

“How to get a body like Heidi Klum”

“How you, too, can look like a Star”

What is being “projected” is that unless one looks like the stars in magazines, movies, TV, or the cat-walk, one is a lesser, insufficient and flawed human being, while yet none of what we see is actually “real”, only made to look real.

Aside from make-up, great lighting and computer re-touch removing any flaws from the models faces and bodies ( yes, also wrinkles), many faces in ads are not “real” – many don’t even exist. They’re composites of different features taken from existing models or regular people. The eyes from Christy Turlington, the nose from Bo Derek, the lips from Angelina Jolie, all nicely composed onto a blank face and then it’s high-lighted to bring out features like high cheek bones, etc. and voila a new superlooker is created.

Oh the client asked for a dark skinned person ? No problem, that just takes one click.

And because more and more people, men and women, are starting to lose self-confidence finding flaws with their body after basically being forced to compare themselves to super models and stars on TV and film, the American Psychiatric Association created a new “mental disorder”, (see DSM 5) called, ” Body Dismorphic Disorder” to diagnose those who already feel bad enough about their bodies with a mental illness.

This much for keeping the “Covenant” of the “Hippocratic Oath” , specifically this part :” I will remember that there is “art” to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug”.

Plastic Surgery is at an all time high for a reason: advertisements in magazines promise high cheek bones, a smaller nose, chin implants, fat suction for the thighs, silicone breast implants, as well as dental improvements such as whitening ( available in every super market ), Veneers, and yes penile enlargement so male can shock female with an elephant trunk like they see in porn films.

Asians have eye-lid surgery trying to fit in by attempting to look like the Nordic race, with added blue contact lenses and blond colored hair.

Blacks use lightening creme for their skin, have their hair straightened, lightened and their noses changed, while nordic folks get perms, color their hair black and get spray painted to look tanned.

And the APA invents a new mental disorder for those seemingly unhappy with parts of their body, calling it ” Body Dismorphic Disorder” which is going to ruin the plastic surgery business, ‘cuz anyone wanting to have their body changed does it to improve it, correct ? And anyone wishing to improve something does it ‘cuz of not being happy with a part of their body, correct ?

Which means the first ones who’re going to be diagnosed with this Mental Disorder are the stars on TV and in Movies having undergone face lifts, etc. and also diagnosed will most likely include a lot of Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Physicians who’ve had nose surgery, face lifts, tummy tucks, breast implants or hair implants, to improve their body or some parts with which they weren’t happy = suffering from Body Dismorphic Disorder, according to the DSM 5.

If some having undergone surgical improvements, as mentioned above, are members of the APA, surely they’d be asked to resign, ‘cuz it be inappropriate to have the mentally ill write a diagnostic manual or diagnose and treat patients ?
